Please can someone help? I'm dying to test it out, and most likely buy the full version.

That looks like a FTP upload error on the Zend version.
To upload the extracted files make sure you set your ftp program to ASCII file transfer instead of binary

open filezilla,
at the top click the "Transfer" tab
it will open a sub menu, click transfer type
then select ASCII instead of auto.
